Activities

While at Cohort Kiddies Club, your child will be under the supervision of our qualified staff, engaging in various activities. Check our club outline to learn more about what your child will be up to.

A typical day comprises four focus activity sessions of varying durations, designed to engage children and develop diverse skills. There are also three breaks: morning, lunch, and afternoon.

Safeguarding

Your child's safety is our top priority. Our staff is DBS-cleared and undergoes rigorous checks and training. We perform daily risk assessments, and staff is trained in safeguarding, first aid, behaviour management, and food hygiene. We closely monitor children during activities to ensure their safety and happiness.

Experienced and qualified staff, who are CRB (DBS) checked and receive thorough training, will be responsible for your child. Consistency in staff enables rapport building and ensures your child is comfortable.

We have qualified first-aiders on-site to handle any accidents or illnesses. If necessary, we will promptly contact parents/carers.

General Information

While breakfast and snacks are provided, please pack a nutritious lunch for your child. We are a nut-free centre. Consider items like squash, fruit, sandwiches, yoghurt, crackers, rice cakes, raisins, or biscuits. During summer, ice packs are advisable as we don't have refrigeration. Water is available throughout the day.

Your child should bring a labelled water bottle, packed lunch, coat, sensible shoes, suncream (summer only), sun hat (summer only), and a spare set of clothes.

We don't have a strict dress code but ensure your child wears weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe footwear.

In warmer weather, please apply sunscreen in the morning. We recommend sprayable sun lotion for younger children. Our staff will remind children to reapply sunscreen as needed.

We can oversee the administration of medication following our medication policy and relevant documentation.

Labelling clothing items like coats and hats is strongly recommended. We discourage bringing valuable toys or belongings to the club.

Children will typically be grouped by age when possible.

Please ensure that your child is collected on time as scheduled. For any collection after the specified end time, a late fee of £1 per minute per child will be applied. Please note that our registered care hours extend until 6 p.m., and we are required to notify Children’s Services of any child still on site after this time.
